On Blogs

As a science teacher I am not convinced that blogging is the way I would go with my classes, considering most are setting up external sites (such as mooodle) to distribute work and monitor student activity. I think it would be more useful in subjects where you want students to respond to stimulus material (humanities). I had a personal blog when we traveled in Europe a few years ago. I would recommend blogs for this.

  1. I would agree. Blogs are much better for personal reflection, (and making money, if you're any good at writing). We look at some other applications in this course that are much better for collaborative projects, like wikis, but some things to explore in the interim would be the Google groups application on your Google account (I can send you some more info if you're interested) and some excelllent collaborative tools that operate in real time like mind42 and stixy.
